Remember Me, As You Partake
(Sung to St. Columba)
1. Remember me, as you partake 3. To be examples to the world
of my blood and of my body. of God's intended living,
Reminded of my sacrifice, Lift up your cross and follow me,
my life you must embody. and of yourselves be giving.
2. To worship me, you must obey 4. The promise of the bread and wine
the words which I have given. calls to you like a beacon:
Then, let the Spirit grow in you To eat and drink with me again
and make, on earth, a heaven. in Zion, God's great kingdom.
The Life of Jesus Beckons Me
(Sung to HS 370)
1. The life of Jesus beckons me 2. The harvestors of fish and sheep
to follow in his way. and those who fashioned wood
To show his life in mine on earth, Were not the only ones for whom
as I live out each day. Christ lived his life of good.
Redemption's face was not confined For those who think in modern terms,
to times that have gone past, the Spirit has to give
But, in my face, each one should see The gospel in the words I speak
God's love for them at last. and in the life I live.
3. Today, as in times long ago,
in lands far from my home,
God's spirit gives me vision
of his kingdom that will come.
Transformed into my daily life,
a sample seen by all,
This vision goes into the world
to offer each God's call.
Come the New Jerusalem!
(Sung to the theme from THE WORKING GIRL)
Hear God's whispered love
sound in your ears
as you lay sleeping:
"Come the New Jerusalem!"
In your slothful night,
hear the world cry
from its life hunger:
"Come the New Jerusalem!"
Open up your blind eyes.
Wash, from them, old lies.
Stretch unused limbs upward
to the one who blesses,
to the one who calls us,
to the one whose truth is living water.
Reach out to him now
to receive power
to heal all nations!
Come the New Jerusalem!
Feel his spirit free you,
strengthen, empower you.
Let his love remake you
into to his sons and
into his daughters.
Let his truth in you be living waters.
Look up to his sky,
raise up your hearts
and eyes, receive him!
Come the New Jerusalem!
